Nation's leading small and independent business group backs Griffin -- again
LITTLE ROCK -- Second District Congressman Tim Griffin today issued the following statement after receiving the endorsement of the National Federation of Independent Business' (NFIB) political action committee, the SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust:
"I am honored to again receive the endorsement of small business owners and NFIB members, and look forward to continuing my fight to change Washington at its core in order to help hardworking Arkansans create sustainable private sector jobs and be leaders in our nation's economic recovery.
"I was proud to see my bill to ease the regulatory burden on job creators pass the House just a few days ago, and I call upon the Senate to pass it when they return to Washington. I have heard repeated stories of how excessive and overly burdensome regulations have prevented employers from investing in their business, hiring more employees and growing the economy. The private sector, and especially small business, is the key to a prosperous future, and I will continue to fight for them in Congress."
On July 26, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 4078, the Red Tape Reduction and Job Creation Act, authored by Griffin. The legislation saves employers nearly $22.1 billion in costs to comply with federal regulations.
The National Federation of Independent Business is the leading small business association representing small and independent businesses. A nonprofit, nonpartisan organization founded in 1943, NFIB represents the consensus views of its members in Washington and all 50 state capitals. The SAFE Trust is dedicated to supporting candidates who promote small business interests in Congress.
