Former U.S. Senate Candidate calls Griffin ‘the right choice’ for the Second District

LITTLE ROCK – Second District Congressional candidate, U.S. Army Reservist and former U.S. Attorney Tim Griffin today announced the endorsement of former Republican U.S. Senate candidate and Arkansas T.E.A. Party founder Tom Cox in his bid to replace Rep. Vic Snyder in 2010.

“Tim Griffin is the right choice for the people of the Second District,” Cox said. “Like me, he is a business owner, and he understands that the private sector – not the government – is the key to sustainable job creation and economic growth.

“Tim and I agree that the government is making things harder for small business, not easier,” Cox continued. “Small business owners need tax relief – not the threat of tax increases – as they decide whether or not to expand and create new jobs. Tim knows this, and that is why I am endorsing him to become my congressman.  And Tim is a veteran, something we need more of in Congress.”

“I am honored to have Tom Cox’ support and endorsement of our grassroots campaign to represent the common sense conservative values of the Second District,” Griffin said. “Tom saw a Washington which has lost its way. He saw his friends’ businesses decline and unemployment lines grow longer. He saw a Congress that no longer works for us, but against us.

“Because he could no longer stand on the sidelines, he founded the Arkansas T.E.A. Party and later chose to run for office. I thank him for his work to get more conservatives involved in the political process. I look forward to working with Tom and other conservatives who no longer wish to remain on the sidelines and who want to build our grassroots momentum towards victory in 2010.”

Cox is the CEO and owner of North Little Rock-based Waco Manufacturing, Inc. – makers of award-winning “Aloha” Pontoon Boats. He attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where he majored in Business Management. He is the former president of the Harbor South Property Owners Association on Lake Ouachita and has served on the Boat Shows and Transportation Committee for the National Marine Manufacturers Association.
