Saline County JP says Griffin “will respect” Arkansas’s conservative values

LITTLE ROCK – Second District Congressional candidate, U.S. Army Reservist and former U.S. Attorney Tim Griffin today announced the endorsement of three-term Saline County District 4 Justice of the Peace Barbara Howell (R – Lake Norrell) in his bid for the Republican nomination to succeed outgoing U.S. Rep. Vic Snyder.

“Tim Griffin will respect the conservative values of Arkansas taxpayers and represent those values in Congress. Saline County voters have the opportunity to help build a new conservative majority in the House of Representatives. We can do our part by electing a conservative leader like Tim Griffin in 2010,” Howell said.

"I am very grateful to have Barbara’s endorsement,” Griffin said. “She is an important voice in Saline County and represents her district well. Like county government, Congress needs to work for us, not against us. Howell, a 15-year resident of Lake Norrell, was elected to the Saline County Quorum Court in 2004. She is a 10-year member – and former president – of the Lake Norrell Area Association. She also serves as fundraising chair of the Lake Norrell Volunteer Fire Department.

Pulaski County JP says he wants “Griffin to be my Congressman”

LITTLE ROCK – Second District Congressional candidate, U.S. Army Reservist and former U.S. Attorney Tim Griffin today announced the endorsement of Pulaski County District 13 Justice of the Peace Phil Stowers (R – Maumelle) in his bid for the Republican nomination to succeed outgoing U.S. Rep. Vic Snyder.

“Tim Griffin will stand for the common sense conservative values of the Second District – values which have been ignored by Speaker Pelosi’s House,” Stowers said. "Tim will be a conservative reformer who will not only vote right, but also lead.“

“Tim is a pro-jobs, pro-growth conservative who will fight to make it easier for Second District businesses to expand and add jobs, not harder through the threat of higher taxes and increased government regulation,” Stowers added. “Tim is also a fellow military veteran and it is for these reasons I want Tim Griffin to be my Congressman.”

John Timothy Griffin, Jr., born this afternoon

LITTLE ROCK – Second District Congressional candidate, U.S. Army Reservist and former U.S. Attorney Tim Griffin and his wife Elizabeth today welcomed the birth of their son, John Timothy Griffin, Jr.

He was born this afternoon at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, weighing 9 lbs., 1 oz.

“We are very thankful for this blessing from God. My wife and son are doing well,” Griffin said.

This is the second child for the Griffin family, and first son. The Griffins also have a two-year-old daughter.

Says Congress 'must do more' to respect taxpayers

LITTLE ROCK – Second District Congressional candidate, U.S. Army Reservist and former U.S. Attorney Tim Griffin today issued the following statement after the decision of House Republicans to adopt a unilateral moratorium on all earmarks:

"I applaud conservative House Republicans for unilaterally banning earmarks.  Legitimate and worthy spending should be handled through the appropriations process, not earmarks.  However, the earmark process is a symptom of a bigger problem in Washington.  As a conservative reformer, I believe we must do more--much more--to demonstrate respect for taxpayers and their hard earned money.  First, we must convince our Democrat colleagues to do the same. Second, we must make the earmark ban permanent. And third, we must stop the broader problem of runaway spending, which is adding to our nation's debt and threatening the futures of our children and grandchildren."

State Representative says Second District “ready for a conservative voice”

LITTLE ROCK – Second District Congressional candidate, U.S. Army Reservist and former U.S. Attorney Tim Griffin today announced the endorsement of District 49 State Representative Jonathan Dismang (R-Beebe) in his bid for the Republican nomination to succeed outgoing U.S. Rep. Vic Snyder.

“It is going to take someone that is able to successfully communicate the issues to win in November,” Dismang said. “Tim has run a clean and credible race - all while effectively hammering home the positions that matter most to the people of the Second District.  I do know that if he takes the same tenacity to Washington that he has exhibited during his campaign thus far, the liberal bureaucrats in our nation’s capital better be ready to have their hands full.

“The people of central Arkansas are ready for a conservative voice to represent them in Congress, and I can’t imagine a voice being more effective, louder, or clearer than Tim Griffin’s,” Dismang added.

"Rep. Dismang is a leader in the Arkansas House of Representatives who, as a member of the House Revenue & Taxation Committee, understands the importance of tax policy and how lower taxes are the fuel for the private sector to create jobs and grow our economy,” Griffin said.

“In his role as an accountant, Rep. Dismang has had the opportunity to assist hundreds of small businesses owners in White County,” Griffin continued. “I welcome his endorsement and look forward to working with him on ways to make it easier on small businesses in Arkansas, not harder.”

Dismang was elected to the Arkansas House of Representatives in November 2008. He is the House Chairman of the Arkansas Legislative Council-PEER Committee which reviews the financial operations and fiscal performances of state agencies, departments, and institutions. He also sits on the House Revenue & Taxation Committee as well as the House State Agencies & Governmental Affairs Committee.

He is the Chief Financial Officer of Whitwell & Ryles Real Estate Investments, LLC. An honor graduate from Harding University with degrees in accounting and economics, Dismang is chairman of the Arkansas chapter of the National Association of Royalty Owners.

Dismang was also named as one of the Top Six Freshmen to Watch in the Arkansas General Assembly by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
